What size area rug works best in a living room?

Choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of the main seating to rest on it. Larger rooms usually look more balanced when all furniture legs fit on the rug with a visible border around the arrangement.

How wide should curtain panels be?

For a full, gathered look, the combined panel width should generally be about 1.5 to 2 times the width of the curtain rod or track. Measure the rod rather than only the glass.

What if my room falls between two sizes?

Consider furniture placement and the amount of floor or wall coverage you want. When both work, the larger size usually creates a more intentional, generous look.
